Community Assets in Nord Design System
As mentioned in my previous post, we recently introducing a completely new section for the Nord Design System, called Community Assets. These are product-specific assets from feature teams built using the Nord Design System’s tools. These are not part of the core system, but may eventually be migrated into Nord for usage across all products.

My colleague Elwin van Eede wrote a slightly more detailed post about this. He explains how this new feature allows feature teams to more easily contribute to the design system with full autonomy, and how on a conceptual level you can think of it as a design system component incubator.
The community assets allow designers and developers within Nordhealth to fully own their product-specific UI components and work at a relatively fast pace, while we in the design systems team can carry on working on the core components at a slower, more considered pace.
One of the aims of this feature is to also allow consumers of the design system to experiment and innovative more freely. The design system can then capture and share the successful experiments after they prove out.
